  • Retail Therapy
Retail therapy was an exercise in integrating technology into the real world in an intelligent and useful way. Finding a current situation that did not use a “high tech” solution was the first problem. My personal experience working in the high end retail environment led me to analyze that environment and select it as the ideal problem to tackle. It is a highly refined world with a set of codes and actions that are well known by those within it. My goal was to unravel those codes and re-write them with a technical solution to problems created by them.

After investigating a selection of stores, such as Saks 5th Avenue, Prada, Gucci, Dior, Ermenegildo Zegna, Brooks Brothers, and a host of others, I selected Brooks Brothers as an Ideal Choice. Their blend of high end environment, quality craftsmanship, a strong brand, and previous forays into advanced digital sales made them a great place to investigate.

My goal was not initially to create a full retail system but to simply make one small part of it better. As I worked at the problem I knew it needed to be more and a full overhaul of the system was needed to implement one piece of it successfully.
